Libra Rising

Repeat this mantra throughout the month as needed: a lack of reciprocity is good information. Your ruling planet, Venus, will enter Libra on August 6, which is normally a time when you glow your brightest and receive favorable attention from the world. However, Venus will be contending with harsh aspects to Mars and Saturn this time around, which means your best doesn’t necessarily equal anyone else’s best. It might look a lot like entering a job market or dating pool that you’re overqualified for, or overfunctioning in your peacekeeping role to keep the operation afloat when the warring parties in question are barely even trying. Especially as Venus approaches an opposition to Saturn on August 21, you might feel the dull, aching sensation of not being met halfway, being taken for granted, or being outright rejected by someone who, frankly, you’re probably better than. As you grumble about how no one even knows what it means to be considerate anymore, allow this moment to redirect you in whatever way it needs to, or, at the very least, to better define your standards.

On August 11, Mars enters Cancer, your 10th house of career and public image, which adds to the pressure you’ll be feeling to perform or defend your reputation. However, the short stretch of time between August 6 and 11 is one you might briefly enjoy before things get sticky. This week offers you a mini growth spurt or glow up of sorts, culminating in a Venus-Uranus trine on August 11 that may delight you with an unexpectedly good time in a foreign land or philosophy seminar. This moment feels flirtatious, expansive, and maybe even carefree, though the Mercury-Pluto opposition perfecting on the same day intensifies the subjective sense of “danger” in opening up that particular can of worms in the conversations you’re having. They say to avoid talking politics or religion when you’re a guest in someone else’s country, but you might be glad you did.

Why Do We Make Such Fast Friends on Vacation?

According to experts, travel creates the perfect conditions for tight bonds.

The eclipses this month (on August 12 and 28) may bring new people into your life, and potentially toss some expired connections out of it. There is real movement starting to happen in your efforts to assemble the right team, make more industry connections, grow your audience, cultivate a community, or make more friends. At the same time, not everyone who was once aligned with you is going to follow you into the next chapter, and you might receive the knowledge that it’s time to let them exit your sphere. This could be a lively time to travel for a conference or a convention, or maybe just to join a group trip for a change. Obviously, there will be friction to deal with, but missing out on the experience may come with a higher cost.

Scorpio Rising

It seems like all that effort you’ve put into rebuilding the foundations of your life is finally starting to bear fruit, and perhaps the most obvious way you’ll be able to tell this month is that you’re finally starting to crack the code careerwise, or getting recognition in other ways. There’s a lot of movement in your 10th house of public reputation this month, most notably the solar eclipse in Leo on August 12. It might be the kind of month where you finally fill a vacancy left open by someone whose time there is done. It might also be your time to bow out of your current role, though it looks like wherever you’re going next might be even better (even if it’s just to retire with your lifetime achievement award). If you have a great idea this month, share it generously with the world. You’re not doing anyone a favor by hiding your light under a bushel.
